EeePCLinuxOS
With the upcoming stable coming close Beta 3 has been released. So what will be new in this Beta 3 test series.
It is my pleasure to announce that work is underway by one of our users, Richard, to create a new Easy or Simple mode for EeePCLinuxOS. For right now the icons are static but I'm sure things will improve in the future. So far it looks really good and has the potential to look even better as Richard learns more about programming and Qt4 Designer. You can watch the progress for this project on the Forums in Applications under the thread "New Simple Mode".
The goals for the EeePCLinuxOS Beta 3 release are to:
- Substantially improve usability, manageability, and stability far beyond the original Alpha/Beta releases.
- Implement the now tested, cutting edge live technologies that are being offered through multiple projects. (Ex. MKLiveCD, Poorman Script)
- Deliver an awesome, aesthetically appealing, look and feel to the EeePC User.
- Balance the usability aspect and the changeability aspect.
- Give back, thoughts, ideas and technologies to PCLinuxOS and Linux Communities.
Just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of some of the awesome artwork that is going into the Final Release. Thanks to Ruel24, C-Chan Lyric and a few other volunteers I've been able to start to put together some pretty cool stuff. You can use the new theme by downloading the rpm from the Artwork section on the forum and selecting it in the KDE Control Center. There's also a Wallpaper RPM in the same section. You can say "Hi" or give you feed back on the forums. Just click on the Link that Says "Forums" in the Left "Main Menu"
Most likely if you've stumbled across this tech blog page then you're a EeePC owner or plan to be one in the very near future. Welcome Future and Current EeePC owners. If you have no clue how you got here you may be wondering what's so great about EeePCLinuxOS, or what does EeePCLinuxOS offer that EeeDora or EeeXbuntu doesn't. Well it's not quite so simple to explain, in fact you're going to have to read a little bit further to get more information.
