It is my pleasure to announce that work is underway by one of our users, Richard, to create a new Easy or Simple mode for EeePCLinuxOS. For right now the icons are static but I'm sure things will improve in the future. So far it looks really good and has the potential to look even better as Richard learns more about programming and Qt4 Designer. You can watch the progress for this project on the Forums in Applications under the thread "New Simple Mode".
------------------------------Just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of some of the awesome artwork that is going into the Final Release. Thanks to Ruel24, C-Chan Lyric and a few other volunteers I've been able to start to put together some pretty cool stuff. You can use the new theme by downloading the rpm from the Artwork section on the forum and selecting it in the KDE Control Center. There's also a Wallpaper RPM in the same section. You can say "Hi" or give you feed back on the forums. Just click on the Link that Says "Forums" in the Left "Main Menu"

Most likely if you've stumbled across this page then you're a EeePC owner or plan to be one in the very near future. Welcome Future and Current EeePC owners. If you have no clue how you got here you may be wondering what's so great about EeePCLinuxOS, or what does EeePCLinuxOS offer that EeeDora or EeeXbuntu doesn't. Well it's not quite so simple to explain, in fact you're going to have to read a little bit further to get more information.

EeePCLinuxOS

EeePCLinuxOS is an attempt not just to have PCLinuxOS installed on the EeePC but create something better then your run of the mill Linux distribution running on the EeePC. Much like how PCLinuxOS got its beginning from taking something and improving on it we hope to do the same for the EeePC. There are many articles on how to install your favorite flavor of Linux to the EeePC and many of these same articles can be used or adapted to be used with PCLinuxOS. Most semi-knowledgeable users can do this and even new patient users could pull it off. If this is what you want to do then you're at the wrong place. What we are is innovation in the making and we're targeting the EeePC to be something more then what people think it is, and make it what we know it truly is.
